We are still running Windows NT 4.0 with 1 BDC. I just setup another BDC using a much faster server so that we can migrate this server to Windows 2003 environment.
However, when I put this new BDC into the domain, some users were not able to logon unless I turn this new BDC off. When I check the event viewer, I saw this message:
The session setup from the computer "computername" failed to authenticate. The name of the account referenced in the security database is "computername$". The following error occured: Access is denied.
Notice the computername referenced in the security database has a "$" at the end. I don't know what caused this, but anyone experienced this before?
Thanks in advanced for any input.

To setup a new BDC this has to be done during install.
From this "when I put this new BDC into the domain" I have to infer that you did not install this as a BDC but as a PDC which would explain your authenication issue.
Might want to explain HOW you set this system up.
