Hi,

After a restore on a BDC, I've got the following events being logged on our BDC & PDC every 5 secs

PDC
ID 5712
The partial synchronization request from the server ANDREW failed with the following error:

ID 5713
The full synchronization request from the server ANDREW completed successfully. 215 object(s) has(have) been returned to the caller.

BDC
ID5716
The partial synchronization replication of the SAM database from the primary domain controller \\BERYL failed with the following error:

ID5717
The full synchronization replication of the SAM database from the primary domain controller \\BERYL completed successfully.

How do I resolve this.

Thanks

Patrick

There are a couple of thing you might have to do.

First, through "My Computer" find your winnt directory. Right-click it, and sleect Properties, then Security, and Permissions. Make sure that "System" has "Full Control"

Then, go into your winnt folder, and find Netlogon.chg. Right-click it, and select Properties. Then click Security, and Permissions. Set it so that "System" has "No Access". By default, it's set to "Everyone" having "Full Access" so changing that to "No Access" should work.

Then, reboot. This should force the system to create another copy of the file, and the problem should resolve itself after a full domain synch. To do that, bring up Server Manager, highlight the PDC, Select the "Computer" menu, then "Synchronize entire Domain".

If all that fails, let me know, and we'll dig more.

HTH,
Chase
