netlogon service not running

After boot.. unable to logon.. says that netlogon service is not running on this machine compaq proliant 2500 with nt4 and sp6... had an array controller and disk error yesterday... rebooted today and no error on POST and array diagnostics and server diagnostics report no errors. TIA

Tried booting to VGA Mode... it checked the files systems on the drives and did not report any errors, but still unable to logon due to netlogon service not running
