I have a problem using the net time function in a login script on an NT client. It doesn't word do to lack of client privledges. The only way I can fix it is to go to every NT box and give'everyone' the right to change the system time in user manager. Adding those rights from the PDC in user manager for domains doesn't work. Is there a way to do this automatically? I dont what to have to go to every machine to do this.
Any sugestions?

Hi,

I would prefer to use the "timeserv" that comes with RessourceKit. It runs as a service and syncronizes the System-Clock of the Workstation at intervall time with the PDC or any other Time-Server. The net time -Command runs only at logon, so if a machine is running for a longer time there is no time-Sync.

Think about it.

Yes I did try that. the only problem is that you need Admin rights to install it and thus I cant automate the install through a login script, and I have to go to every machine and intall it. Thus I'm back withe the same problem.
Am I missing something? Is there a simple way around this?
Thanks for the suggestion anyway. All help is appreciated

Hi,

I don't know how many machines do you have to syncronize. I recommend to install the timeserv with "sc.exe" contained in Ressource Kit. You can create a batch-File to do that on all machines.

Try utilizing the sys32/repl/import/scripts on your pdc. Drop the .bat file in there and when users log on the sys time is updated
