A user was using an uninstall program to 'try' and clean their computer up and it came back with some registry entries and DLLs that it recommended to delete. This was done and now the My Computer icon on the desktop does nothing when clicked on. What part of the registry/DLLs gives this icon its functionality. Is it anything to do with the default shell (explorer)??

I had a similar problem, this was how I fixed it: Save this text,(between the exclamation marks below), with a ".reg" extension then Merge it into the registry. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
