having recently been asked to upgrade a single processor nt installation to multi-processor i cannot get the hal.dll file to recognize the second processor. I believe that i may need to get a file fromthe manufacturer (IWILL DBL100), i just wondered if this is the case. Any advice would be good!

You are correct, to recognize more than one processor you will need to load the correct HAL which you should get from the manufacturer

I really doubt that you need a set of files, besides what Microsoft provides. The upgrade to a dual processor is iffy at best. You definitely should get the file called uptomp.zip from the technet or MS. It contains exact instructions and files on how to do the MP upgrade properly.
