Hi,

I have set up a database in the library drive of an NT server. However I seem to be having permission problems. Everyone has 'Read Only' access and one person has Change. When someone opens the d'base everyone else is refused access. If I change the permissions on the .ldb file (Created when the .mdb file is opened) to 'everyone' 'Full Control' it is ok. But when the d'base is closed and re-opened the permissions for the .mdb are re-instated and so the problem starts again.
Can anyone help please?????????????

Please mail me with any idea's...

Leon

Leon,

The .ldb file is deleted after you close the .mdb file so setting access permissions on that file isn't usefull.
When someone opens the file, I could imagine that the file gets locked because it is open. You would get strange results if multiple persons can simultanously open and edit a file and then save it. So that is normal operation I guess.
Mutiple read actions however sould be possible. Is the drive the file is on shared? If so check to see that the User Limit is set to "Maximum Allowed".

Good Luck!
