After I installed IE5, service pack 4 and 5, the office97 shortcut bar is not working now. I don't know which one caused this problem. The error message is "C:\..\..\xxx.lnk" is not a valid NT application. However, if I go to that file in explorer and double click it, it will work.

Do you know how to create a new shortcut? OR..right click on the existing non-working shortcut, choose "Properties","Shortcut", "Find Target" and recreate the link.

I am having the same problem with Office 2000 and Win98. Yes the shortcuts are pointing at the right target Larry. The only way that I can get one of the buttons to work is to copy the actual program into the Shortcut Bar's folder (i.e. Office) besides that none of the short cuts to other short cuts or directly to programs work I always get the "This file does not have a program associated with it fot performing this action. Create an association in My COmputer by clicking View and then clicking Folder Options." yet if I try this there is already an association for the extension .lnk whick is the extension in the shortcut bar. Any were else the same shortcuts work. Even if I put a shortcut in the OFFice folder where it appears in the shortcut bar the one in the folder works fine yet the one on the bar does not and this is the same shortcut? Any ideas???
