HI my roomies and I just setup a home network in our apartment so we could all share the DSL line. Our problem is that only one of us can log onto internet at a time. If I try to get on while someone else is on, it says i couldnt connect to the server. Any clues? is it problems with the hub or something we have to do in windows (win98)?

You need to install and configure Internet connection sharing on the win98 machine that connects to the Internet. Connect rest of the machines to the same hub as this one. Connect the DSL to the HUB.
Good Luck!

You have to put two nic in win-98 PC one for the DSL connection and another that will connect to the hub that the other pcs are connected to. Setup Internet sharing on the win98 PC that is connected to the dsl box. then have the other pcs connected to the hub to get IP addresses automatically. You will have to have the nic connected to the DSL box to get its IP address automactically also. after that run winipcfg /all and get the IP address of the nic connected to the dsl and use it as the default gateway on the other pcs wanting to connect to the internet. I might have left out something but don't think so/ sounds confusing but really it aint. Later goodluck.

Alternatively, replace the hub with a DSL router. It's a bit more expensive than the other suggestions, but that way all computers will have equal access to the internet without one having to carry the burden of being a "server"...or disconnecting everyone else when it crashes ;)
