Hello: I am running NT4.0 Server SP6a and have formatted a 60Gig HD with 1 primary and 7 logical partitions. This drive will be for backup purposes of various other systems. I currently can only see 5 of the 8 partitions on the 60G. The system has 3 SCSI devices and 2 IDE Hard drives, one on each IDE channel and both jumpered as master. Total drives/partitions showing on the server are 11 [A, C & E(IDE-1 Master w/ 2 partitions), D F G H I (IDE-2 Master w/ 8 partitions but only 5 showing), and 3 SCSI devices J K (removable media drives) K (CD-ROM). I am having no luck getting the missing 3 partitions to show up. They are accessible in DOS with unique names and I know from previous messages that NT can access up to 24 disks/partitions. Is this a conflict with my SCSI controller or should I look else where? I’m sure it is something simple that I am just over looking and would appreciate your input. Thanks

As a follow-up to the above message. I have contacted the SCSI controller manuf. and confirmed that it is not part of the problem. If I remove the SCSI controller from the Mother Board, the problem presists. So it has to do with some settings in NT. I have reinstalled the SP6a to see if it would clean it up but no change.

Hello everyone: I have fixed my problem. It turned out to be a corrupted Hard Drive. Even though I checked the drive and partitions with several utilities to insure they were OK, there was still something that was wrong. I ran fdisk and removed all logical, DOS, and the Extended partition then recreated them all again. All the formatted logical partitions show up OK now. Sorry for your head scratching, and hope this lesson will help someone else.
