Comment:

A user changed their resolution and frequency setting and found that the screen went blank we the message "Frequency outside bla bla"
I detached the monitor and attached another monitor which could run at a higher setting. With the new monitor I changed the settings back and eveything seemed ok.
The problem reoccurs when the person logs out or restarts the PC. I have to reconnect the large monitor again and once the user gets past the login window (which has the high frequency and resolution settings)it reverts automatically to the proper settings.

What I need to do is to change the settings of the login window. I have loged on to the PC locally and as administrator of the network to try to change this but neither seem to work.

All advice would be appreciated.

The computer is part of a NT network.

Moin,
1. have you tried to boot with ...last working hardware configuration?
2. If this doesn't work, try it with booting into VGA-mode and then setting the resolution and frequency. Hope it helps.
mfg, Carl.
