I have an E-machines 17" monitor - only a year and half old. Out of the blue, the bottom of the screen, both when the computer is off or on, curls upwards so that there is less surface area. The longer the screen is on, the more surface I lose. Can this be repaired or I am stuck buying a new monitor ?

The only change that has occurred between the last time it worked fine and the problem starting is a phone line was installed about 2 feet away - perhaps it is possible that is causing interference?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

The phone line doesn't carry enough power to cause interferance to your monitor it sounds like there are filter capacitors that are bad. It's common that they get leaky as they warm up. If you have a trustworthy tv shop nearby see if they can repair. I used to buy whole cap kits for about 12 bucks otherwise toss it and buy one of the new flat screens, there much easier on the eyes!
