Hiya All, when I shud down my computer the monitor only goes into standby mode and doesn't switch off. I have a PIII 550 Jetway 720afr2 mainboard (already updated the bios)and SIS620 chip. I have tried playing with the bios but the monitor just doesn't go completely off. Please help!!

This may be normal with some monitors.

Actually the monitor has to be in some kind of standby mode in order to react to a signal from the PC to turn on, perhaps the only thing that you noticed is that your monitor shows a small LED light when it is in standby. Anyway the power consumption during standby should be very small, perhaps just two or three watts, check your monitor manual.
