I had an old 486 with 16MB RAM and managed to install Windows NT on it without issues. NT is not demanding at all.

Minimal Requirements:
486 CPU
16MB RAM
CD ROM
a minimal install will consume approx 60-70MB of an HDD if that.

it'll run on just about anything but, running and running well are two different things...the more memory the better on ALL NT OS's.

I have used NT4 on a 486DX2, with 12 meg ram. The install wants 120mb hd to install.

It was a little sluggish, but it was more stable than Win3.1 or Win95 in 1997...

Nowdays, NT shouldn't be installed on any machine with less than 32 MB ram, due to the required service packs and newer runtime libraries.
