NT4 Geniune CD's are bootable, providing the MoBo BIOS supports boot from CD it will boot.

You can't slipstream NT4, that started w 2K.
The MS NT4 Workstation CD is bootable.

Search google for a download of the setup diskette set (3 floppies).

k thx i did that but here's the new problem...whenever it boots and then loads and starts copyting files to the hdd it always screws up on about 10 *.rmi files and some wav files and even one or two ppd files so i skipped them, but once i did that it then ignored those files and continued peacefully and the only file it screwed up on was a banada.wav file or something so im asking is it crucial that the files i missed might screw up my nt 4 installation?
I also tried to install the drivers for my chipset using thw w2k drivers but when i did and restarted i got a blue screen of death and i knowe that sis never wrote drivers for win nt for this board (ECS 741GX-M) but i want to use nt and VMWARE to test os's and apps but if i put on 2k/xp i dont have enough memory and ium a fifteen yr old high school kid and im trying to learn about os developpement so how can i get the drivers to work or get win2k to use less memory i have 256MB DDR 400 (running @100Mhz with 32MB shared)
if i do put on win 2k how can i set it up to use less than 100 mb of mem or maybe even 128 at the most???

Thx in advance!!!

NT4 drivers work in W2K/XP not the other way around, the only solution is to buy a NT4 CD, though you may have issues with hardware compatibility.

This is the second post on this issue, why not ask for older PC's to be donated, VMWare is not the best way to learn.

The only advice I would give is try to walk before you can run, I spent many using PC's before taking the plunge to learn them inside out. The best OS I ever learnt to use is MS-DOS.

ok thx but what are u hinting at? i really want to learn to use NT4 and i have an odler comp a pentium1 200Mhx MMX with 64MB EDO/FPM mermory and a 3GB hdd, and i would really love to install Nt on this computer but its bios is messed up, like i turn on the comp and it forgets all the settings, i changed the lithium battery to a new one and the same thing so if i use this comp then i gotta always set up the bios every time i turn on the pc which sux!!!

Thx in advance!!!
