I bought an IBM APTIVA 2171-585 with pentium pro processor (pre-installed with windows98). On windows98 the machine runs smoothly without ANY
problems.Did a clean install of WindowsNT Server 4.0 SP5. The installation went fine. But after about 20 minutes of continuous activity, I get the following STOP error.
Machine_check_exception
Stop: 0x0000009c (0x00000003, 0x00000000, 0xf2000000, 0x0002010a)This error is documented at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q162/3/63.asp and
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q103/0/59.aspThe error and parameter values are always the same.
Diagnostics check run by the manufacturer (IBM) has indicated that there are NO hardware problems. There are no revisions available for BIOS. Can someone help me understand the error, and suggest causes and offer solutions for fixing this problem. The same error surfaces on NT workstation, and win2k RC 2 as well, but NOT on windows98.
