My MS Word app comes up in what appears to be the full screen mode, but without the little escape box that goes with it. I have tried the F10 key which is supposed to activate the menu bar, but there is no response to that. Most of the other, editing, hot keys work and provide limited functionality that way. The Help files say to click Tools on the menu bar, but that is impossible when it is the menu bar is not showing at all.
I am using Word from the MS Office 2000 Premium suite. All the other apps work fine with menu bars and tool bars (except I have lost the spell check option from the Tools menu on Outlook).
This is running on an NT Workstation, version 4.0, Build 1381, Service Pack 5, Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.
Can anyone suggest how to get the MS Word menu and task bars to reappear?
Thanks,
Mark

The real answer turned out to be that of putting a "/a" switch at the end of the executable path in the shortcut. This reset all defaults, and allowed me to get to the Tools menu and fix everything from there, including my Normal.dot file. I will certainly remember the "/a" switch if I need it in the future.
