Logon Script Problem

Comment:
I have Win95 clients on an NT4.0 network where the logon script will not execute. I have the LOGON.bat located in the NETLOGON share of all of my domain controllers. About 2 weeks ago the script stopped executing on half of my users for no apparent reason.
Any ideas as to why the script is no longer running? I have been beating my brains out on this one ....

Hi, Perhaps you should check the permission for that script file or for the netlogon folder. If the user is still not execute this script, you have to check all the command line, etc. Have fun!

Thanks I have done that already. After authenticating to the network users can browse to the share and run the script successfully. However it will not run during authentication ... Yes it is configured in the users profile.

There are several other possible reasons your login script may not be functioning. If you have a BDC, the login script should also reside in the netlogon share as well. This would make sense as your bat file seems to be working on some systems but not others.

Well thanks for the help but niether was the case. We are now rebooting the server daily and this seems to have cleared up the problem. The script may have been "locked" by an admin or user. I was assuming the server had the scheduled reboot, when it was reconfigured the problem just went away ....
Summary: It would be much, much(!), easier to answer this question if the, "famous" ;), logon-script in mind was made readable for our eyes first... I'll guess.. :-)...
Summary: Hi, I'm having a problem with logon scripts. The scripts were running fine and suddenly they no longer run at startup. The workstations authenticate with the server and seem to just bypass the script....
Summary: We were having the same problem at work. I started checking every property of everything involved in the logon in any way. I finally found that on my PDC in the permissions for the logon script only...
