Hi
We have some Windows 2000 clients machine with Windows NT server. When we login as different users all my printers setup etc is gone.
How do I configure it so the any user can login and I keep my printers setup at least. The printers are setup on one machine and shared out to all others on the network. I have set them up in administrator login already to local machine.
Thanks in advance for any comments.
Ken

are you on a NTdomain? and are your users logging into this domain. if so, you need to add printers locally on the machine for the default printer to carry over. Sometimes.. you must go to each user to add printer for them, unless you upgraded the 2000 workstations from NT workstations. there's nothing more but a pain to do this for them.

Hi
Yes, it is an NT domain with login users, I have added the printers locally to each machine, the OS is Windows 2000 professional.
I
f another user login they loose there printer settings, so they can't print.I also have another problem that I'm trying to set the standby option from 30mins to never. I can login as administrator on the local machine and change it, but when I login as a domain user to our NT server, I can't change the standby setup. It says Access is denied (Power Policy manager unable to set active policy).
Any ideals, I've never use Windows 2000 before only Windows 98 which doesn't have any of these security problems just changing printers and standby setup.
Thanks for any comments
Ken
