Login messaging?

Because we are setting up a few VPN accounts on our NT network, our auditors want us to put a message "This is a private network, unauthorized acces..blah blah" to come up every time any user on the network logs on. No biggie, have an aftermarket program that does just that. (just add a batch file in the login script that, when run, displays a DOS box with the message, everyone's happy)
Bu tmy question is, is there anyway to do this within NT WITHOUT using an aftermarket proggy or a batch file? Is there anything in Policies or anywhere that will do the same thing?

You can do this through the NT Policy editor or go directly to the registry key and add it in.

Open Policy Editor. You can get to it by going to Start->Run-poledit
If there is already policy in place you can use that one. Otherwise you'll have to create one, name it ntconfig.pol and save it in \WINNT\System32\Repl\Imports\Scripts\
You want to edit the Default Computer. Go to properties and then Windows NT System->Logon->Logon Banner. Make the box a check and then put what you want to appear in the message. Save it in the Scripts directory mentioned above. Allow time for the policy to get replicated to your BDCs. The users will not see it the first time they log in but will see it on all following logons.
