At work, we have NT4 server with win 95 workstations (i know 95 is old now, but finance dictates upgrading later on). Everything has been fine, all pc's logging on ok. Today, only pc's with a Pentium processor will log on (P3 500 and 667's), athlons (1 gig processor) and celerons(1 gig processor) will not log on, giving a message about the network path being to long. If i connect a pentium PC in the same location as the celeron or athlon, it logs on ok. As the users grab the same log on file no matter where they log on, it only leads me to the different pc's. If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated. at the moment, i'm baffled !!
I have moved PC's from room to room, but the problem is the same no matter where they are sited (pentiums log on, anything else won't)
Thanx in advance
Graham

Sorry forgot this bit, I can log on to network as an admin from the celerons and athlons, but the hidden drives do not exist ( D$, E$ etc). Re mapping them allows me back in, but again log in at the same network point with a pentium pc and there isnt a problem. Thanx

to anyone who looked at this problem, it was solved by a fix from microsoft, a 933 share fix, which was a problem with 95. The share fix was not installed on the athlons or celerons, but was on the original network pentiums
