As a local admin I installed a local printer (HP LaserJet 4P) to NT workstation. I gave the user who uses that machine full-control rights on the printer, but it still doesn't print.
Of course I checked that the centronics-to-parallel cable is connected correctly, that the printer is on, and that there is paper in the printer. What did I forget to do?
thanks.

There's a contradiction in what you're saying. The "subject" line says "printer not working for domain use." But in the text of your message you say you installed a local printer.
If my response seems confused, it's because I'm not clear as to what you want to accomplish.
Have you installed TCP/IP printing on your Primary Domain Controller? It's a separate protocol and you need to install it from the NT Server 4.0 CD. Use the HELP utility and type in "TCP/IP Printing" and the information will be there to guide you through the proper steps. My guess is that long ago you've "been there, done that."
The other issue is that you may want (or need) to configure the printer using an LPR port. Again, use the HELP utility and type in "LPR Port." Most likely this is where you're being negligent.
It'll work, Mosh. Just take things one step at a time.

Dr. Zhivago,
I can't type even if I had to make a living on it. I meant to type "local printer not working for domain user".
