LAT is the group of adresses that are routed normally. The adresses outside the LAT are forced to be routed through the proxy server.
Normally LAT would be something like this:

10.0.0.0 -> 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 -> 172.31.255.255
192.168. (I can't remember the rest)

which means that all private IP adresses are ignored by the proxy client, and all the public IP adresses (Internet Adresses) are routed by the proxy client through the proxy server to the Internet.

Hope it Helps.
Good Luck.

Pablo.
