I have a Win NT 4.0 server running SQL 7.0. It's lockup giving a blue screen message IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL error , Every time the database is use for something like copy, mantain or accesing a large portion of information from the databese.

I too have the same problem in Windows 2000. Someone answered to my problem by saying that I need to upgarded my BIOS..! I don't know whether that is really right solution to this or not..! Try that, I have not tried so far. Will be great for me too, if someone answers to you.

Sorry, forgot to ask you one thing - once you get that error does it automatically start dumping physical memory..and then reboots the computer? Please answer to this as we seem to be on the same boat!!!

I also have the same problem when I print using HP drivers. I figured it was the drivers (since HP has in the past made equally worthless things,) but maybe not...

You probably have a bad file or setting. The reason it reboots is it is set to do so in the system. To stop it go under control panel, System. start up/shutdown. At the very bottom it gives you settings to change this and tells you where the dump log is filed. Once this is done read the very first four or five lines of the blue screen, this usually will tell you the file name that is bad or give you some sort of hint.
