IPC$ password in trusted domain?

Comment:
I have 2 windows NT4.0 domains with a two way trust between the two. Client machines are windows 98se. When I log into domain A I can access shares fine on domain B. When I log into domain B when I try and access shares on the NT servers in domain A it prompts for a IPC$ share password although when accessing an NT workstation 4.0 machine I can access the shares no problem.

When you are on the NT machine, is it with the same user account? In other words, is this a permission issue? Remember the trust relationship does not set permissions, just the ability to set permissions to the other domain.

The account I am using exists on domain B and I am logging into domain B. The account in domain B has been given access to shares on Domain A so I can see and add permissions to Domain B on Domain A no problem.

Found the problem. In the domain that could not be accessed the net logon service was not running on one of the two BDC's even though the files that were granted access to did not reside on the box with NT logon disabled. After enabling the service on the bdc that was disbaled it worked fine.
