IP address Problem

Hi Guys,

i am installing windoes nt4.0 with sp6. i am instaling nic card in my mechine. my problem is when i configured static ip to that card it takes the ip but when i tried ping to other mechine it says destination host is not reachble .
any one knows the answer please tell me
