I have Windows 95. Microsoft Internet Exployer. When I am on the internet there have been a number of times thaat my system shuts down just out of the blue. I have been trying to print a confirmation from a web page, or I have been clicking on the mail icon, or just simply looking in a web page. I have scan disc that I checked for errors. My providor said to check scan virus on a web page, but I can not locate this information on a web page. He said it may be the modem, but I got this new modem about 3 months ago. Do they have errors this early? I am clueless to what the problem is, all I need it to be directed and I can probably figure out the problem without having to take my computer in to the shop. Any help would be great.

What version of Internet Explorer are you using? If you are using 4.0, try installing the latest version 5.01. This may correct a glitch with the older version of Internet Explorer. There are also Service Packs for those older releases at Microsoft's website. It sounds more like a problem with Internet Explorer than your new modem.
