Help! IE's icon keeps displaying as the flying windows (unknown file) icon. I've tried the deleting the ShellIconCache file process, but that didn't work. All this started cuz I was trying to get rid of some dead registry keys that made some folders pop-up during startup. Can someone help me with this?

Sounds like your issues are similar to mine all related to the same worm virus infecting everybody in one form or another. Problems with IE are only the start. People with anti virus software and firewalls are all suffering with it. Microsoft is hours waiting on the phone and they had not heard of my systems pop up "sychost.exe" The harder you struggle the deeper the quicksand! Good Luck!
