Internet Explorer error message

When I try to log on with Internet Explorer 6.0 I get an error message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." The problem is I can not get rid of it. Closing doesn't work and send report doesn't work. Help. Thanks. Kirk

I had this problem recently. Uninstalling, removing folders and files, and reinstalling (several times) did nothing. I just could not get it to work no matter what I did. Finally, I installed Netscape 7.0 for the user so he'd have a functioning browser.
Short of reloading the machine, I was out of options.

I've obtained some more information and was able to fix the corrupt IE on my user's machine. If you're still having trouble, you can email me or post here...tell me which file name is causing the problem, and I may be able to help you.
