I installed oracle 8 enterprise on an NT4 Server networked to an NT4 client.

However, I'm unable to log on to the Oracle database to start up an instance (using Instance manager) because of "Insufficient privileges".

I apparently do not have operating system Administration rights even though I installed NT4 myself as an administrator.

I've tried creating a user account and giving it full administrative rights but this isn't working. HELP!

You'll have to figure out what rights the Oracle database is running under. That should be the problem. Then you can either give the administrator the same rights, or make a new user that looks like the Oracle administrator.
