I am hving one p3 machine installed Win Nt server. I put a copy of Win Nt in that server. Now I want to install the same in 4 machine via network. Pls tell me how to install via network. I have only 1 cdrom installed in server only.
Pls help me.

Copy the I386 on the server and share the folder with full control to everyone.from the server create the network installation disk set, this will create bootable floppy user to access the network thru dos, once the pc is booted, you then will have to map a drive to the server share using the following syntax
net use z: \\servername\sharename
the server share folder will then be mapped has your Z: drive.
you then only have to run Winnt.exe with the need switchesyou can run the installation from the server's CD...but it will take much longer.
Cheers!
Garreth.

You will need a Network boot-disk to allow each PC to access the Server. (If you have DOS already present on a/the PC then you can use a DOS-client disk to the same end.)
So, following on from Garreth's advice, more details re Network boot-disk (and DOS-clients) can be found with Helmig at:

- specifically:

And from John Savills FAQs at:

Also remember the NT4 and 7.8/*gig HD limit - you need SP4 or later (preferably during installation); again via John Savill - details at:

JS's FAQ's are an excellent source of info... (as is the whole windows2000mag.com site).
Suggest you read all the above links beforehand - to avoid disasters...?
