I'm trying to install NT 4.0 on a re-conditioned Compaq machine and on the setup program it searching for mass storage devices and only sees the CD-ROM. Can anyone help?

As I recall that is what it is supposed to see - the CD Rom drive. Are you saying that the installation process fails to continue after that point or are you stopping at that point because you don't see the hard drive listed ?
