Install of Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise stalls

When I load disk #1 and start the setup.exe, I get the Visual Studio welcome splash screen with the README button and the Back (greyed), Next (highlighted), and the Cancel buttons. I click on Next, an hour glass appears and everything else stops. The task manager says the application is no longer responding. I'm trying to install this on a Dell Latitude with 256 mb RAM and tons of space. I cannot load it via the network, either.

In case you want to know, I found the answer to this dilemma in the registry. I went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\VISUAL STUDIO\WIZARDS and modified the string from '00x000002' to '00x000001' and it worked.
