Subject: HP Surestore not detected
OS: NT4.0 Server SP6a

Comment:

I have a HP Surestore DAT 24 internal.
It's not detected, but can be seen on boot! as a SCSI device!
I've tried a manual detection using Tape devices under Control Panel.

Backup Exec doesn't detect it either!
It was working prior to a Server software and OS rebuild so it should work!

Any ideas please?

John

perhaps loading the scsi card driver might get you on the right path.

So you have onboard scsi? Id your mainboard and go to the manufacturers web site. They will have the driver. If the board came with a cd the driver will be on the cd.

Hi
No its not on the main-board! Its an add-on a card PCI.
Its marked up as a Winbond w27e512-70
Its an old box, must be about 5 years ago and I didn't build it so it goes without saying no disks that came with the system!

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but have been unable to find drivers for this and I have checked the code is right!

Also been to the Winbond website, its a joke!
