HP Printer spits out pages of funk!!

I have an HP laser jet 4v, networked with nt, a couple times a day after completing a print job it will spit out about 20 sheets with different letters and symbols across the top. What is causing this and does anybody know how to fix it? it is wasting about a ream of paper per day

Sounds like somebody is using the wrong printer driver (ie. postscript driver when postscipt isn't installed in printer). Also HP has some new drivers out for the 4V for Win95 and NT 4.0. http://www.hp.com/cposupport/indexes1/lj4vs.html Might be a place to start.
