Lemme guess ...you installed the security patch and suddenly received the loadqm.exe error? I bet if you look in your event viewer you'll see your Remote Access is completely fubarred.

Why do I know this? Because I'm living with the same disaster. I don't think we'll be alone in our misery.

All loadqm.exe does is to check whether IE is set as the default web browser, if it isn't the program will create a small pop-up window to tell you so and ask you if you want to check every time the system starts.

If you go into the registry and look under:-
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run AND -
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look to find the entry for loadqm.exe and just delete it. It won't cause any problems.

This program won't stop either IE or MSN from working. So, you have some other problem. Post back here and give more detail of what is happening exactly.

The problem began because of the kernel32.dll file you installed in the Sp6a. You need to go to add/remove programs in your control panel and remove Hotfix 823980 and then 823803. This should reinstall your last good kernel32.dll file.

It worked for me.

Good luck.

Only loadwc.exe in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and I had deleted loadqm in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

i already remove Hotfix 823980 and then 823803.

But my problem still existed. Even I cant repair and reinstall my IE6 too.

Should i remove IE and msn first? How can i remove IE as i tried several time already but IE still there. I know there are some program to remove IE. any recommend for me?

Thanks

As I repair the IE, it said that RASMAN.dll is not working as well.

Thanks.

This one has me beat at the moment. My email server has both of these fixes applied and is running sweet as a nut.

I got mixed up between loadqm.exe which is part of MSN Messenger and loadwc which is what checks IE is default.
There is an article in the KB about this prog:-

I run NT 4.0, I have no such directory structure as MSN/MSNCoreFiles anywhere on my computer. I am having this same problem and cannot resolve it. I have tried all of the above. Anyone find a solution to this for NT4.0 Workstation?

Problem solved, I hadn't removed the Hotfix 823803, only 823980. Removing both solved the problem. Thanks a lot guys.
