from John Savill's FAQ's at:
http://www.windows2000faq.com - part of:
http://www.win2000mag.com
Other way is to use < delpart.exe >
This was originally part of NT3.51 Resource Kit, omitted from NT4 RK; is available at places various - one is:
http://hercules.lss.ksu.edu/download/MSSTUFF/index.htm
(parent site: http://hercules.lss.ksu.edu)
It will delete just about any partition - permanently...

john does suggestion might work for you if you first use fdisk /mbr. then reboot. after which fdisk might work. or you could go through the install procedure up to the point where you are given the options of removing existing partitions.

You cannot use Disk Admin to delete the boot-partition (where the OS itself, which included Disk Admin) resides...). You're asking it to 'commit suicide' and it won't...
You cannot use Fdisk to delete NTFS partitions in the Extended area of HD... You can use Fdisk to delete NTFS from the Primary partition - as long as Fdisk is from DOS 5x, or 6x, or Windows '9x...
If the NTFS partition is not the boot-partition (where the OS resides) then you 'can' delete it from within Disk Admin... - or go any of the suggested routes in my earlier post...
Incidentally, is this part of a dual/multi-boot set-up? If so and if there is no more NT OS installed (after you remove NTFS NTSvr...), and you want to remove the NT boot-menu etc, then you will need to address that issue to; if it is/was '9x as well as NT then just run the < sys c: > command from a '9x boot disk to replace the NT boot-loader with the DOS/'9x version... But this is already covered in John Savill's info...
