I am using windows nt,but now I have some error msg.now I want to delete ntfs partition.how to do it.
Anybody can help,thank.

Boot the system with a win98 bootdisk in the fdd and run fdisk.
Delete the non-dos (ntfs) partition.
Create a new partition and make it active.
Reboot with the boot disk still in the fdd.
Type format c: /s
Wait for "System files transfered" message.
Remove the floppy disk.
Reboot.
Done.

You can not delete NTFS primary partitions using fdisk. You neeed xfdisk (extended mode of fdisk), usually located on Nt boot disks. But you can also delete partition using Disk Administrator from Start/ Programs/ Administrative Tools

Hi chong
get another hard drive and ghost all the information from the one to the other.
next fdisk the hard disk the ntfs on it.
then reistall every thing on agin.
Word of advice leave the boot partition as a fat partition incase you have a problem with NTFS so that you can install an NTFS program on to the HDD to help you sort out the problem.
Normally the only way to get rid of NTFS is to Fdisk the hard drive. but try the way of the other two comments first.
but I'll go it with what I just said.Cheers

NT is what XP is based on so this is what i have done with the same prob, it may help.
I use recovery console,dos mode,(XP) and
type DISKPART to select and remove the unwanted NTFS partition press L, done.i have never used NT but it might have similar functionality.
good luck
