Comment: I have no sound card on my work computer, but I can listen to cd's using the cd player's headphone socket. is it possible for me to make a cd at home with mp3 files and listen to them directly from the cd???

Reply: (edit)No. The reason why is because a regular audio CD does not need an external decoder for the music. All audio processing is done internally in the CD ROM drive and run out the headphone jack. When playing an mp3, data is output through the IDE bus and is decoded with an mp3 player.

Reply: (edit)You can convert mp3s to .wav files using a utility called "MP3 to WAV Converter", then you can burn the .wav files to CD. Sorry I don't know the URL.
