Hello all!
I have successfully cloned (disk to disk) my nt server, but I really want to create an image on a CD...or put it up on the network.
The NT server has been formatted as NTFS and both hard disks in the unit have been partitioned in such a way that there are 2 partitions mixing both disks. Disk 1 is 6GB, Disk 2 is 12GB. The first partition is 2GB and the rest is on the second partition.
I have tried everything (almost, I guess, since the image is not yet working and once I have tried everything, I am hoping to have an image).
I have tried making my bootable ghost (2001 professional) diskette all 3 ways...and they all freeze up at the save file location. I have tried ghostpe.exe -nofile and then specified the location for my recordable CD, but access is denied. I also tried copying a simple file onto that CD to no avail...erroneous drivers for my CD R/W I suspect.
I made a network disk with NT network administrator, but that was a colossal waste of time...it boots directly into NT and we all know that Ghost is DOS specific.
I tried to install DOS6.21 on my NT machine and it just won't let me (that damn NTFS is getting in the way).
Now some of you may suggest converting the file system to FAT16 or 32, but that defeats the purpose for why I am making this image. I need something that is quick and easy for non-techies to administer. This image will be used over and over in a test lab. Besides, the message on the ghost box proclaims that it is friendly to NTFS.
My next step is to create a NOS...a dos network bootable diskette, but it has been so long since I have done that, I am hoping maybe someone already has and can email it to me?...or tell of some other thing my exhaution is making me overlook.
Any and all input will be greatly appreciated!

I have tried Ghost with Network Disks for DOS and it worked perfectly well. With that boot disk I can map a network drive onto the NT server formatted with NTFS and Ghost can both read and write image files from the drive.
What Network card do you want to use? I've disks prepared to 3Com 905b, 3COM 3C905C, Realtek 8139, 8029 e CNET PRO 2000. If you have another one, send me the dos driver (.dos and .nif files) of your card and i'll mail the disk to you.
