I am using a new WD with 6 GB, partitioned it in Windows NT, with NTFS format. By mistake it ended up being formatted in Windows 98 (fat32). I would like to format it again with NTFS, but the disk administrator marks an incredible number of bad sectors. Even after re-partitioning it. Should I low format it? If that's the answer, where can i find a program to do it? Does anyone know what to do? Thanks, MP

If you want to completely erase your HD go to http://members.xoom.com/the_hacks/KILLHDD.BAT to download my util that will delete all info on you Hard Drive. Copy it to a dos boot disk and run it. It requires debug.exe on the bootdisk in order for it to work. Then you can start over.

Or even easier, you can use FDISK and erase the NON-DOS (NTFS) partition. then create a DOS partition and set it active. You will have to reboot a couple of times but just follow what FDISK tells ya to do. Once you have a DOS partition, install NT and convert to NTFS.
