1st case - I can play a cd with the cdplayer and everything is okay. If I use Winamp, the sound drags like a record playing at a slower speed.

2nd case - when I use winamp or the media player to play a mp3 file, it slows down.

3rd - connecting to the internet also is slow when using media player.

Myself and 5 others just got a 600mhz PIII, 512M of ram and 2 20G hard drives running on Windows Nt 4.0, we all have the same problem... I mailed my secretary the mp3 file and it plays fine for her. The only difference is 256M ram.

can someone help?
