Comment:

I have an NT server 4.0 sp6 with lpdsvc service installed (TCP/IP printing services).
I installed a printer adding a lpr port on NT.
I can send a print job from my Unix AIX 4.3.
But, the job stay in the NT queue with status : printer error.

How can I redirect this job to a shared network printer using win9x : \\WS1\HP ??

I found third party software, but I like to use NT.

Can anyone help me on this one ?

Kind regards

You may be able to fool NT. Create a new printer using "My Computer" at the first screen.

When you are asked which port to print to, specify "LPT1:". Finish the wizard.

Now, go back into the print driver properties. Change the port from LPT1 to the share \\ws1\hp

If that doesn't work, do it again, only instead of LPT1, choose Add Port and add a local port called \\ws1\hp.

Hope this helps
