it seems the computer may support one sided memory modules . I'm using 2 x 128mb 2 x sided modules and the Setup shows 131072K of memory . Would you think I could go ahead attempt to install Windows NT anyway ?

If you have two 128 MB memory sticks in your board, then one of them either isn't seated correctly, or isn't working...If they were both working, you'd show 256MB, not 128 upon POST. Or maybe I misunderstood, and you're using 2 64MB modules?

Bad seated memory at this point . I had to take the memory out to take the floppy disk drive out and now the memory test shows varying amounts of memory each time the computer boots up , sometimes the full amount . The floppy light comes on twice throygh the bootup process and the number lock key stays on . Maybe the memory needs reseating again . I have the Award Bios postcodes here and will look at those , reseat the memory and make sure all the cables are in as far as they can possibly go .
