Getting unknown software exception

Hi, I am using a windows NT 4.0 workstation. I get a error saying unknown software exception periodically and the explorer.exe crashes ( Any thing open like IE or windows nt explorer or control panel closes). It is very annoying. Can anybody help... Thanks Rajan
