getting around nt password logon

purchased a second hand laptop. Has Windows 2000 NT installed on it. Once booted password window appears. This is my problem, I don't have a password to get in. Would like to delete windows nt. And install windows me. How do I go about doing that.
Please respond asap...

boot using dos boot disk and use fdisk to remove non dos partition. recreate primary partition, format and you can go from there to install any operating system you like..
