Comment: I have DSL at business. I have one Windows NT 4.0 server running MY DSL router is my DHCP server which assign dynamic IP's to all my computers in Local Lan including my NT server. MY NT server is open to the whole world to attack. It has databse running and all company information on it. My question is how do sucessfuly deploy security. what changes do i need in my setting up a LAN with router. This routher has a 10bastT Hub which up link to my Main hub where all my computers and server is hooked up togather. How and where Do i install Firewall software. Do I need additional Scanning computer/gateway computer between router and my Main HUB? Should I just connect to my router to My server NIC and put another NIC in server to connect that NIC to my MAIN HUB and have that other NIC DHCP enable so that can also assign dynamic IP address to LOCAL network. what do I do?? Please Help

Reply: (edit)http://www.zonelabs.com/ is a decent firewall software package... However im not sure u need this. what kind of router do you have? and what range of IP's is it giving out? Are you sure your router is not a firewall also? If not, and you went the software route, youd have to install the software solution on EVERY machine to be safe.
