I found an old server and need to clean off all the old files. The "F drive"public folder had several users had folders full of their work files. All but one folder deleted. I cannot open the folders, the hard drive hums for 30 seconds then a message pops up "The request could not be performed because of I/O error" I can look in the folder and see and retreives all the files with an undelete utility and they are not marked deleted. Ownership says admins. I ran chkdsk /f. Tried access remote. Some files in folder are Word docs. hmmm.... Any ideas?
