Our Exchange server went down sometime between last nite and this morning. I rebooted our Master server and Exchange server to no avail.
No one on our network is able to access their personal or any public folders. The error messages we recieve in Outlook are:
Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location. The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance.
OR:
Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location. The folder no longer exists.
I have restored the drive with no luck. We reseated the NIC, changed and tested hubs and cables. We can PING, connect to, etc, the server, but it's just that the folders are unavailable.
Under the Exchange Administrator, I can see all of the mailboxes, but when I try to access any folders, it locks up. When I tried to delete a TEST user I had created, it says the Information Store is unavailable, and to make sure the service is running, error ID c1040af1.
I went into services in Control Panel, and it's set as AUTOMATIC, but it sometimes hasn't neccessarily started. When I click to start it, it takes forever and hangs.Hope this is enough details, please let me know if you need any more, and thanks for any info!

OK, here's what else I tried.
Under event viewer, I found the following:
The MS Exchange IS service terminated with the service specific error of 4294966766.Searched around, found this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;q246272
It suggested that I run file optimizer, which I did, no luck.
Thanks in advance for any info.
